Rhys Button, 31 January 2010 10:23
Woodbridge won the
toss, and choose to play with sun which was the wrong
decision as the sun didn’t last for the second half.
Colchester made the first score - a try trundled over by the
forwards after a missed kick for goal. Woodbridge’s
discipline was lacking so they gave a way some silly
penalties. With some good ball from the forwards Sam Jackson
started to cut loose in the backs with some penetrating runs
but just couldn’t finish. Finally Woodbridge’s try came
through some brilliant back row play at the fringes and Nick
scored again shortly after.
In the second half Colchester played some great attacking rugby
and scored some good try’s but Woodbridge, through Sam Jackson
scoring a brilliant solo effort try, Nick scoring his second and
Rhys Button also making the score line the game ended Woodbridge 44
- Colchester 26.
Final score: Woodbridge 2nds 44 - Colchester 2nds 26
